The Maasai in Tanzania were forced to move out of the Serengeti when it was declared a National Park and given rights to dwell freely in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Visitors pay an entrance fee at the Ngorongoro gate but it is not shared with the Maasai villagers. They benefit by hosting tours and sharing their culture.
