The Skyline Hikers of the Canadian Rockies is a not-for-profit organization, established in 1933. Volunteers that share a passion for backcountry wilderness camping and hiking come together from all over Canada each summer to set up a base camp in a different location within the Canadian Rockies and to coordinate five 6-day camps and hiking explorations of the area.
They advocate for appreciation of nature and environmental responsibility and support maintaining Canada's National Parks in their natural state. Thus they ensure that their camps provide a low impact backcountry experience and educate visitors on appropriate backcountry ethics.
Skyline Hikers recognize that their activities take place on the traditional territories of the First Nations people in Canada and are committed to being a respectful presence on this land and fostering peace and harmony between all nations.
